Fashionable Thursday: Let Your Inner Fashionista Mix Prints and Textured Fabrics

Printed fabrics or textiles go as far back as before the 220 in China and textured fabrics were created as far back as the B.C. Era. To incorporate prints or textured fabrics within an outfit is one of the most interesting ways you can offer personality and attitude to yourself. This is not very popular for the classic style type of woman, but very optimum to basically every single style like the casual, eclectic, bohemian and more. The clothing pieces itself own a special singularity that will introduce and speak for you. Prints are a very fun element to wear, they add the perfect amount of dimension and volume to your figure with just their presence and the same thing happens with textured textiles/fabrics. A fashion forward woman owns the game of her style and knows how to make the mixing of prints and textiles look classy, sexy, daring and very feminine depending on the specific setting she is wearing them. Dior, Mulberry, Missoni among others, were the Designer Houses that proposed this trend that obviously translated into the street style for the spring-summer season this year. Here you have some points of reference when it comes to which prints and fabrics you can mix together:

1. Florals with Stripes, Plaid and Animal Prints

2. Animal Print with Plaid, Polka Dots, Stripes and Crochet Fabric

3. Polka Dots with Stripes and Florals

4. Gingham with Stripes, Florals and Polka Dots

5. Tulle with Lace and Floral Prints

6. Linen with Crochet and Lace

7. Plaid with Leather and Polka Dots

8. Rayon with Floral and Geometric Prints

9. Denim with Silk and all of the previously mentioned Prints

Business Casual Look - Very appropriate for a work day or even a night out. In this particular case the main pieces were a floral lace top in a teal color with the leaopard print pants. To create more of a fashion forward look the black blazer was added, along with the black chunky heel sandals, and because accesories matter the final touch were the sunglasses in a rose gold color.

The possibilities are endless; if you can see it you can create it. Just be aware of the color palette you are playing with and be proactive offering a great color story through your style and outfits. As long as you believe in what you are wearing, you already won and will be able to conquer a day speaking through your style. Dare to explore more and implement the mix of prints and textures this summer season.
