Fashionable Thursday: High-Low Moment
This fabulous spring-summer trend, also called waterfall cut, started as far back as during the Victorian Era (1870-80). It created with “fishtail” hems, later during the 20’s-30’s they revolutionized with much shorter hemlines. Even when it was the age of prohibition, women found the way to wear them with a rebellious sentiment. Post World-War II peplums and high-low tops made their appearance because women needed even more functional garments for easy movement. Even when some consider it non-proportional, this cut is present from red carpets to ready-to-wear fashion in the modern fashion industry. From dresses, skirts and tops; the high-low cut is one that offers a twist and playfulness to conventional hemlines. At the same time adds the edge every woman needs whenever is needed. It is appropriated for every single body type and it does not have age restrictions. Spring-Summer is perfect to implement this trend with light weight fabrics and colorful prints.
Don’t think too much and take advantage of the high-low moment!
