Fashionable Thursday: Break the Monotony and Wear Asymmetric Silhouettes
I will start this Fashionable Thursday blog by letting you know that there is no reason to fear non-symmetric lines and cuts when it comes to clothing pieces. When it comes to the historical portion of it, asymmetry in fashion goes back to the Grecian mythologies where the geometry and symmetry while designing and drawing dresses were all about experimenting with freedom and breaking away from the rigid and solid lines of symmetry. Bohemian, yet sophisticated it did and it keeps representing the underneath movement of breaking free from traditional lines. Proposing silhouettes that break the already stablished expectations and allow the wearer to express themselves in a way that it is non-constricted but edgy, sexy and classy the same time. As well it proposes boldness and experimentation, all in timeless pieces. Asymmetry in fashion can be presented and implemented in so many different ways; from sleeves, necklines, hemlines, layers, shoulders, slits, wraps, prints and patterns; but yet the most common ways to identify it are on the one sleeve tops and high-low skirts/dresses. This fall-winter season break the norm of the expected and acquire or take out of your wardrobe the asymmetric pieces, they will be a statement whenever and wherever you decide to implement them.
Fashion does not have to be rudimentary, instead dare to play and implement different types of trends and pieces. For sure you will be projecting a more fashion forward version of yourself. Asymmetric Silhouettes are here, dare to take them for a walk!
